Eco Church

Hello, we are Phillip and Elizabeth Blackman. We have been members of an A Rocha project for the last 12 months and so we have co-ordinated the churches application to be recognised as an Eco church. A Rocha is a global family of conservation organizations working together to live out God's calling to care for creation and equip others to do likewise. The Eco Survey and awards are to show how we are caring for God’s Earth in different areas of our life and work.

Working with a team within the church we have carried out surveys on five key areas of church life.

Worship and teaching
Management of church buildings
Management of church land
Community and global engagement
Lifestyle

The answers we have provided collected points towards an Eco Church Award

We have been awarded a Bronze Award overall. In some sections we have managed gold and silver levels but still have things to do in all sections if we are to gain silver and gold .

We have the ECO Church resources to help and support us and we will be asking our church family in the near future to work on further projects.
